How to create your morning yoga ritual for 2025 and how it can change your life.

The way you approach your mornings, even the way you think when you wake up, can determine how the rest of your day will go: positive, happy, calm and with your mind focused on what you need; or negative, unfocused and stressed.

Creating your own wellness and yoga ritual for your mornings can change not only the quality of your days but the quality of your life. Making this little ritual a daily habit can also be the key to achieving your goals and objectives in 2025, as it will help you have the energy, motivation, mental clarity and positive attitude to take action towards your desires.

What practices to include in your yoga and wellness routine every morning.

When we talk about yoga routine we are not only referring to performing postures or doing a small practice if you have time, but to include breathing or pranayama, positive affirmations or mantras, visualizations and meditation, an infallible combination to start the day full of energy, joy, focus and meditation, serene and connected with your center, with your inner power.

Don't you have time? 10 minutes can be enough to do your daily wellness routine. It will feel so good and you will enjoy it so much from the first day, that you will wake up full of motivation and energy. It's worth setting your alarm clock a little earlier to do it.

What should your morning yoga and wellness routine include? Actually, whatever you decide, feels good and helps you start the day motivated. Our advice is that it should not be too long and include, as we said before, some yoga postures or stretches, pranayama, some mantra and a few minutes of meditation.

Your yoga and wellness ritual step by step

The best advice we can give you is that your wellness ritual starts before you even wake up, before you even open your eyes. The magic will start with gratitude: when you wake up, bring your hands to your heart, feel the breath and the life in you, and be grateful for the day ahead of you, for the opportunity to do, feel and enjoy, to express who you are. For this moment you can create a little mantra: "Thank you for the gift that is life", "thank you for all the gifts and miracles that life has for me today", "thank you for all that I have and all that I am"...feel free to express whatever you want, no one will listen to you more than your subconscious, which is precisely where we want to sow new thoughts, habits and behavior patterns.

For your ritual, it is important to choose a quiet place. Whether in your bedroom, living room, outdoors... look for a comfortable, bright, clean and tidy space that transmits peace. Place in this space objects that inspire you and make you feel good (candles, decorative figures, photographs, your vision board, stones, your aroma diffuser, your mala...) and your yoga material: mat, blanket, block, meditation cushion. It is important that you feel comfortable, calm and welcome in this space, that it is your little oasis of peace.

Once you are up, take note of the steps that can help you create your daily morning yoga ritual:

    1. gratitude

There is nothing more powerful than starting your day with gratitude. Your home, your life, your health, your loved ones, your work. Gratefulness immediately changes your mood, protects you from frustration and sadness, makes you see the cup as half full instead of half empty. You can simply think of things you are grateful for or create a mantra. Here's a powerful one: "Thank you for all the gifts and miracles that life has for me today.

    2. Pranayama

Doing pranayama in the morning will increase your energy level and help you balance your nervous system, as well as purify body and mind (thoughts can be very toxic). We recommend Nadi Shodhana: prepare in your right hand the mudra Visnhu Mudra (lower the two fingers of victory and leave free the ring finger and thumb). Inhale and exhale through the nose, plug the right nostril and inhale through the left nostril in 4 times, hold the air 2 times, change fingers so that you plug the left nostril with the ring finger and exhale through the right nostril in 4 times. Make a total of 6 complete breaths: inhalation on one side, and retention and exhalation on the other. Remain silent for a few seconds, breathing through both nostrils and enjoy the feeling of calm.

    3. Yoga practice

Stretching your body and doing some simple yoga asanas in the morning will be wonderful to activate your vital energy, lubricate your joints, tone your body and increase your flexibility. This will make you feel limber and strong throughout the day and help prevent back and neck pain. Here is the short morning yoga sequence that Gemma Casserras (@gemmyoga) has prepared for us to stretch, activate and fill you with energy. After doing it you'll be ready for the next step.

    4. Meditation

If there is a transformative practice, which can even change your brain, it is meditation. Meditation is the art of stopping, of being still and silent, which helps us to return to our center, to transcend mind and body, and to be present. Meditation restores peace, joy and mental clarity, protects you from stress and allows you to have all your skills and resources to face your day. How to start. Sit in meditation posture or in a chair with your back straight. Close your eyes and begin to connect with your breath and the sensations in your body. Be still and "play" observing your thoughts without intervening, letting them disappear and returning again and again to the present moment. Stay like this, present, filling yourself with calm and peace. When you finish, take two or three deep breaths, exhale through your mouth and gently move your body.

    5. Positive affirmation

Before running to the shower, repeat three times a motivational phrase, the one that inspires you or that you need for the day ahead. This will help you to raise your energy, keep you motivated and your self-esteem high: "I am capable, I am powerful", "I deserve all the abundance of the universe", "I am perfect just as I am"..., you can create a mantra every day or repeat it.

Our advice is to do this little ritual on an empty stomach, after drinking a glass of warm water with lemon, which will also serve to activate your metabolism.
